Cette rare icône grecque orthodoxe est composée de deux registres. La partie supérieure présente la Déësis sacrée : le Christ Pantocrator trônant au centre, levant la main droite pour bénir et tenant l’Évangile, entouré de la Vierge Marie (à gauche) et de saint Jean-Baptiste (à droite), intercédant pour l’humanité. Le registre inférieur représente les saints guerriers équestres : saint Georges, monté sur un destrier blanc, terrassant le dragon, et saint Démétrius, sur un cheval rouge, transperçant un adversaire tombé.

Peinte à la tempera avec des pigments vifs et posée sur un fond doré éclatant, l'icône dégage à la fois une gravité dévotionnelle et une présence spirituelle lumineuse. Des inscriptions grecques au-dessus de chaque figure confirment leur identité, affirmant la fonction ecclésiastique de l'œuvre. Le panneau est conservé dans un cadre doré ultérieur à décor végétal, sublimant ainsi sa présentation.
