Relic & Rarity takes great care in packing and shipping all objects using museum-grade materials. While every precaution is taken to ensure safe delivery, shipping is conducted through third-party carriers. Relic & Rarity cannot be held responsible for items that are lost, delayed, or damaged during transit. In the event of such circumstances, we will assist the buyer in initiating a claim with the shipping carrier and provide any necessary documentation to support insurance claims.
Relic & Rarity guarantees the legal export of all items from Canada in accordance with applicable Canadian laws. Buyers are responsible for ensuring that their purchases comply with the import laws, cultural property regulations, and any duties, taxes, or customs requirements of their destination country or state. Because international regulations vary widely, Relic & Rarity cannot provide legal guidance for every jurisdiction. It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm that their purchase and ownership comply with all applicable local laws. While we make every effort to prevent issues, customs authorities ultimately determine admissibility. Relic & Rarity cannot be held responsible for items delayed, refused, or seized by customs due to local regulations.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that accurate shipping information is provided at checkout and for making themselves available to receive deliveries where a signature is required.
If a shipment is returned to Relic & Rarity due to any of the following circumstances:
the order shall be considered a voluntary cancellation by the customer.
Upon receipt of the returned item, Relic & Rarity will inspect the merchandise to confirm that it has been returned in the same condition in which it was originally shipped. Subject to such inspection, a refund of up to 50% of the original purchase price may be issued. The remaining amount shall be retained as a restocking, handling, administrative, insurance, payment processing, and shipping recovery fee.
Original shipping charges, customs fees, duties, taxes, brokerage fees, insurance costs, return shipping costs, and any carrier-imposed charges are non-refundable.
Relic & Rarity reserves the right to deduct any additional costs incurred as a result of the return before issuing a refund.
Due to the unique, rare, and often one-of-a-kind nature of the artifacts offered for sale, returned shipments can result in significant administrative expenses, market exposure losses, inventory holding costs, and diminished sales opportunities.
Relic & Rarity shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the purchase or ownership of an item beyond the purchase price of the object.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Relic & Rarity operates.
All items offered by Relic & Rarity are historical objects and may show signs of age, use, restoration, or wear consistent with their age and historical use. Such characteristics are not considered defects but are part of the object's historical integrity and authenticity. Condition descriptions are provided to the best of our knowledge, and buyers are encouraged to review photographs and request additional information prior to purchase.
Descriptions regarding attribution, cultural origin, historical period, or maker reflect the informed opinion of Relic & Rarity and the specialists we consult at the time of cataloguing. Scholarly understanding of historical objects may evolve over time as new research emerges. Such developments do not constitute misrepresentation.
Relic & Rarity is committed to responsible stewardship of historical artifacts and antiquities. To the best of our knowledge, all objects offered for sale have been legally acquired and exported in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Where known, provenance and ownership history are provided in item descriptions. Buyers acknowledge that historical artifacts may have passed through multiple collections over time, and complete provenance records may not always be available for objects of significant age. Relic & Rarity makes no representation that an object will not become the subject of future scholarly debate, ownership claims, or repatriation discussions that may arise due to changes in cultural property laws, international agreements, or evolving academic research.
At Relic & Rarity, we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for collectors and institutions worldwide. With thousands of satisfied clients, our dedication to scholarship, transparency, and professional integrity ensures that each transaction is conducted with care, expertise, and respect for the historical significance of the objects we steward.
