Description
Finely engraved Russian Orthodox pectoral/pendant cross, cut from a sheet of 84-standard silver with scalloped trefoil terminals and an elongated lower arm. The obverse shows the Crucifix with traditional Orthodox inscriptions: IC and XC (Іисус Христос) on the crossbar, an upper titulus (INЦI, “INRI”) at the top, and the spear and sponge-reed flanking the upright. The base is engraved as Golgotha with cross-hatched “Adam’s skull” mound—classic iconography on Russian devotional crosses.
The reverse bears the 84 zolotnik hallmark (.875 silver) and a maker’s stamp (partly worn), confirming manufacture within the Russian Empire.
