Description
Small, wearable Orthodox devotional cross-plaquette from the Old Believer milieu. Cast in copper-alloy and inlaid with green enamel in champlevé recesses. The face carries blocky Cyrillic inscriptions arranged in panels; reverse plain from wear. Short suspension lug at top (worn). Attractive olive/malachite patina with pockets of original enamel.

Features

- Champlevé enamel in recessed fields

- Cyrillic inscription panels (“Save and Protect”-type invocations)

- Surviving top lug for suspension

- Deep, uncleaned patina with earthen deposits

Condition
Good excavated condition: partial enamel loss, minor edge nicks, one small bite to an arm, lug worn/compressed; stable surfaces, no modern repairs.
